MAZEL TOV - it's a girl

Proud parents Adam and Marina have welcomed a little girl to our batch of 6 boy cousins. Sophia will be taken care of very well by all her boy cousins. Although Nico still insists that Aunt Nina in NY ( versus Aunt Nina Max's mama) had a boy as he will correct you when you refer to the little baby girl just born. The shock just hasn't set in yet that there can be girl cousins out there.

unfortunately I couldn't get there picture to post but here's the link

Nico and his first boat ride

We were so excited about Italy's win we decided to go to Apple Valley and celebrate with some of Papa's family. Nico got to see lots of baby duckies and water and show off his entertaining skills to some of the girl cousins. But best of all he got to drive the boat and beep the horn and go on his first slow boat ride around the lake.

Go Italia!!!! Italy wins fourth World Cup

The family cheered on Italy in their worldcup finals and through the double overtime, the messy red card incident and final shoot out to VICTORY!!! Papa and Nico celebrated by jumping up and down and screaming Italia ( although I think Nico just liked the jumping up and down!!!)

Happy 4th of July !!!

It was a great long weekend for the family. Nice and quite but having 4 days together was a treat. We started the weekend at Popcorn pops picnicking with Deda and Ada and our cousins. It was so much fun Nico couldn't sit down. He danced, jumped and ran around for the entire hour while the symphony played music. He was just so full of energy he clapped and danced until there was just no more music and it was time to go home. ( hopefully deda has some good pictures ...)

Nico and Papa had their 2nd swim lesson on Sunday and they were great. Nico can jump off the side of the pool and go under water and of course kick and scoop to get from one place to the next. Then Moday, Nonno came over to help Papa with the trees all afternoon and Nico was close by pushing his lawn mower and picking up all the extra leaves while hunting for bugs (ants).

Unfortunately, the 4th of July was very soggy and a lot of things were cancelled but we did get to see the end of the Bexley parade under a few sprinkles and have a festive lunch with Deda and Ada. And the highlight of the whole weekend was Italy's win over Germany in the world cup -- everyone on both sides of the family was rooting for Italy and in the last few overtime minutes they came through with a 2 and 0 win!!!!! After the game we rushed off to see the Nonni's and celebrate the 4th and the victory with dinner -- Nico got his pasta and to play with his cousin Dominic and was well asleep before any of the fireworks began.
